How to Vote

Post

You can vote by post, but we acknowledge the global postal system can not guarantee you will receive your ballot and be able to return it in time.

Proxy

Using a proxy to cast your vote from within the UK is easier than you having to go to the UK or post your vote from abroad.

New regulations mean someone can act as a proxy for 4 people, up to 2 of whom can be UK residents.

Postal Proxy

Our recommendation

Your proxy can apply to vote by post, and so doesn't need to live in the same constituency where you have a vote.

You can apply when you register or on the Government website.

Important: If you or your proxy are granted a postal vote, you'll not be able to vote in person on polling day. Similarly, if your appointed proxy has already voted on your behalf on polling day, you will not be able to vote.
